the Amazon by taking a boat safari into the Anavilhanas Archipelago,
to the unique ecosystems of the Rio Negro.  This
great tributary of the Amazon River flows north of Manaus and is characterized
by its dark, acidic water, where few insects can breed. This leaves
the environment almost mosquito-free! It also accounts for flora that
differs from the rest of the jungle areas around Manaus.
The Amazon expedition cruise vessel M/Y Tucano operates with small groups (max. 18), trained naturalist guides, and thoughtful itineraries on the Rio Negro, to offer a genuine, thrilling experience with the REAL Amazon rainforest. She is a big boat, over 80 feet long and there is plenty of space to spread out, study the forest nearby, and contemplate the wonders of nature. The decks in the cabins and Salon are a deep brown natural finished wood that is kept highly polished.  All of the nine air-conditioned cabins are comfortable with walls of solid wood, raised, highly-polished paneling. Most cabins have twin beds but a few have upper and lower beds. Each cabin has a private bath with a shower, toilet, and a sink, and plenty of hot water for pressurized showers.
The Motor Yacht Tucano was built entirely new and went into service in 1997. The vessel was built in the tradition of the steamboats that navigated the Amazon in the late 19th century. Why didn't they build a boat that more resembled a contemporary yacht with 'swept back' decks and the ‘deep V’ hull? Because over the many years that this company has operated nature cruises in the Amazon, they have learned that the traditional design has several crucial advantages for Amazon River travel. The two most important of these are shallow draft and large volume of the interior space.

| Rate Includes: Rates are per person in USD. Rates include accommodations, guided excursions, and meals as indicated in the itinerary. Bottled water is served free of charge. On joining the group on Day One, passengers board the vessel on a short walk from the lobby of the Tropical
Hotel Manaus.
Rate Does Not Include: Airport transfers, airfare, departure taxes, visa fees, soft drinks or alcoholic beverages, gratuities,if any, or items of a personal nature.
Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of $300 USD is required to confirm the reservation. This deposit is non-refundable even if the passenger cancels.
Cabin Categories: There are three cabin categories on the Motor Yacht Tucano: all have a private bathroom and air-conditioning.
Yellow Cabins: Double cabins are the largest on the vessel. They have beds side-by-side.
Green Cabins: Double cabins with above and below berths (bunk beds).
Blue Cabins: Single cabins have a single twin sized bed. On request, Blue cabins can be converted to Green Cabins.
Triple Occupancy: Three travelers can share cabin “0”. Each traveler pays the Green Category Rate.
Single Occupancy: If a single traveler is willing to share with another same gender passenger, he or she will be charged the Green Category rate, even if a roommate is not available. Single travelers that request a private cabin pay the Blue Category rate. If a single traveler wishes to reserve a Yellow Category cabin, he or she must pay the full fare for two travelers at the Yellow Category rate.
Discounts for Children: Children 12 years of age and under who share a room with an adult receive a discount of 50% off the cruise rate for whichever cabin category they select, subject to availability.

In case of force majeure to include unexpected repairs, Amazon Nature Tours reserves the right to substitute a vessel similar to the Motor Yacht Tucano without penalty.
