Day 1 - Cuiaba Airport to Rio Mutum Day 2 - After breakfast there's a horseback trip through the forest where there's a possibility to see an anteater, deer, rhea, emu, armadillo, abiru woodstork, peccaries, capybaras and with luck, a jaguar! Lunch is back at the lodge. In the afternoon is a boat trip to try to see caimans, tapirs, howler monkeys or giant river otters. Keep your eyes open for aquatic birds feeding along the shoreline. (B, L, D) Day 3 - This morning follow the Eco-Trail through the wilderness stopping in some native settlements - maybe to try a 'guarana' - a genuine Pantanal pick-me-up drink as well as seeing a lot more of the Pantanal's flora.Lunch is back at the Lodge with time to relax afterwards to avoid the heat of the afternoon. Then in the mid-afternoon leave on a photo-safari by boat along the almost un-explored Rio Mutum to see more wildlife. (B, L, D) Day 4 - Rise before breakfast to quietly canoe on the lake or river to spot some of the 250 species of fish or over 650 species of birds! A bird checklist is available on request. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After checking out of your room, the shuttle transfers everyone to the airport in Cuiaba. There are 7:00 am and 11:00 am departures. They are noted for their hospitality and leave quite an impression on all the visitors. You might even be invited to sample a "guarana" - a locally made stimulating drink. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon board jeeps for an extensive ride on dirt and gravel roads to catch a glimpse of the unique mammal life that inhabit the Pantanal.
