La Lancha Resort overlooks the beautiful and unspoiled Lake Peten Itza, near the region of Tikal, one of the archaeological wonders of the world. The main lodge, with its soaring thatch roof and open views, is the center of activity, and houses the reception area, restaurant, bar and gift shop. The free-form pool offers a welcome, refreshing interlude after nature excursions and activities. A winding path leads guests from the main lodge to secluded casitas. Each casita has an extra large bedroom with a queen-sized bed and large marble tile bathroom, and is brightly decorated with antique Balinese and Guatemalan furniture throughout. Be prepared for visits from the friendly howler monkeys that come right up to the edge of the deck!
