The Puyuhuapi Hot Springs Resort Hotel
& Spa is located in Dorita Bay, an uninhabited corner of Chilean
Patagonia, where birds, porpoises, and sea lions offer the necessary
ingredients so that visitors may discover their own secret, South
of Silence. Puyuhuapi Hotel is one of the southernmost and most beautiful
hot spring resorts in Chile. The hyperthermal waters reach temperatures
of up to 85ºC, although the temperature of the water for treatments
and therapies is 47ºC. The hydromassage bath tubs and the indoor
pools are built with local wood and keep perfect harmony with the
surrounding environment. Furthermore, in the Puyuhuapi hot springs,
visitors can enjoy various treatments in which the hot spring waters
are mingled with sea water and seaweed in relaxing and exfoliating
sessions of thalassotherapy. In addition, hot spring activities may
be interspersed with tours and photographic excursions around Queulat
National Park. Rooms are chalet-style and furnished in pine. All have
en suite facilities and overlook the lake. There is a restaurant,
a well-stocked bar, lounge, games room and small gift shop. The spa
and thalassotherapy center has a large thermal pool with hydro-massage,
warm sea water and thermal water Jacuzzi, a cold water pool and a
children's pool. There is also a steam shower and gym. Massages, facial
and body treatments, and pressotherapy are offered. Thalassotherapy
treatments include affusion massage, bioslim, thalatherm and thalaform,
and balneotherapy. There are three natural thermal pools of differing
temperatures, one of which is in its natural setting surrounded by
pines and ferns. From mid-September to the end of April, the hotel
can be reached via either a five-hour catamaran journey through the
Austral Fjords from Puerto Chacabuco, or by a five-hour drive to the
hotel mainly on a gravel all-purpose road via Coyhaique, where a ten-minute
motorboat ride then ferries guests across the lagoon to Termas de
Puyuhuapi Hotel & Spa. The 28-metre catamaran has 56 seats in
a covered area and a bar/restaurant and travels at 25 knots. It has
a lower level with reclining seats. There are also two Zodiac boats
for other excursions. All comply with SOLAS regulations. |
