       Outside
of San Jose en route to the Caribbean coast lies the immense Braulio
        Carrillo National Park.
It is the largest park in Costa Rica, and the most significant tract of
rainforest in Mesoamerica. Further east is the antique town of Cartago,
gateway to the bucolic countryside of the Orosi
Valley. The orchid collection at Lankester
Gardens is world famous, as is river rafting
on the Reventazon River outside of Turrialba.
