This is a combination
of four of the most popular destinations: Poas Volcano National Park,
La Paz and San Fernando Waterfalls,
Sarapiqui River and Braulio Carrillo National Park. The day starts with
an early morning departure from your hotel for the trip to Poas Volcano,
with a typical breakfast on the way. Poas Volcano is known to be the world's
largest geyser, featuring two craters, one active and one extinct, the
latter of which today is a beautiful crater lagoon surrounded by dwarf
vegetation and species of birds endemic to the volcano. The road continues
through quaint villages, coffee and sugar cane plantations, La Paz and
San Fernando Waterfalls to Sarapiqui. There you board a boat that takes
you along the Sarapiqui River, where you have the opportunity to observe
birds, iguanas, crocodiles, monkeys and lush vegetation. Enjoy a succulent
lunch prepared with products of the zone. Afterwards you drive back through
Braulio Carrillo National Park. (B, L)
