 Three
star Hostal Presidente is located in the heart of Aguas Calientes,
tucked between the mountain and the roaring Vilcanota River. It
is close to the train station and to where the buses to Machu Picchu
depart and return. The hotel is only one mile from the Machu Picchu
monument. The hotel is an open, four-story, low-rise building with
tiled roofing painted in yellow and terracotta. Although not the
most luxurious, Hostal Presidente is clean, and the staff is friendly
and helpful. It is considered one of the best moderately-priced
hotels in Aguas Calientes. All of the rooms have private bathrooms
and 24-hour hot water. Some of the rooms have small balconies offering
splendid views of the Vilcanota River and the surrounding mountains.
